Mulderie Wood, in the heart of the Highlands, is a short distance from where we hand make our candles.
We use soy wax in all our candles. This is made from 100% pure soy oil derived from sustainably grown soybeans, and is free from pesticides, genetically modified materials and herbicides. Soy wax is a natural, renewable, sustainable and biodegradable resource.
We do not use any colourants or dyes in our candles, so they have a smooth pure white finish. Our wicks are made from cotton and specifically designed for use in our candles. Our fragrance oils, essential oils and wax are not tested on animals and contain no animal product and is phlalatate free.
All our candles are hand blended and poured to exacting standards, ensuring a consistently high quality candle. And as they are made using soy wax, they are long lasting and give an even, strong scent whilst burning.
We have one aim in mind: to make the most natural candles possible; better for you and better for the environment - everything is good in our wood.
Spey Bay is our nearest stretch of coast facing the Moray Firth. We often visit here to dolphin watch, build driftwood shelters and unwind. Spey Bay is a beautiful coastal reserve with the largest shingle beach in Scotland and it is home to a range of habitats, from bare shingle, coastal grasslands to brackish saltmarsh and wet woodland. It is an amazing place for bird watching and spotting and learning about dolphins at the WDC Scottish Dolphin Centre.
This candle is an unique blend of fresh sea air, floral gorse, wild lupins and sun baked driftwood. We hope to transport you to one of the most beautiful bays our country has to offer - we want to share Spey Bay with everyone.
The fully recyclable heavy molded white glass jar measures 75mm dia. x 87mm high and contains approx. 160g of wax with an average burn time of 35 hours.

Candles and melts come in various sizes. Please see individual scent listing for details of sizes in both mm/cm and in grams.
Soy wax is well documented to burn with minimal soot but all candles will emit a degree of soot if the wick is not regularly trimmed. Avoid soot and lengthen the life of your candle by keeping your wick trimmed to 5-8mm max. This is particularly important to avoid black soot marks on our glass container candles.
Soy wax will follow where it was last burnt to - it has a memory; so for the first burn we recommend burning your candles until the wax has melted to the edge. Then when you light it again it will follow that path and no wax will be wasted. It is also recommended that you burn your candle for a max of 4 hours each time and keep the wick trimmed to 5mm to 8mm. Please remove all packaging, including the ribbon, prior to lighting and follow candle safety advice at all times.
Each size of candle has an estinated burn time. Our estimation of the burn time of your candle is based on tests we do here in house and also by our independent testers. This is based on burning your candle for a maximum of 4 hours not more than once every 24 hours. It is also based on following our candle care instructions including keeping the wick trimmed.
Warning! To prevent fire and serious injury burn candle within sight. Keep away from drafts and vibrations. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep candle free of any foreign materials inc. matches and wick trimmings. Only burn the candle on a level fire resistant surface.
